Setup layout

The Setup layout regroup all project settings, ie. information that can be consistent across an entire project or a specific production phase of a given project. They include layer assignment and ordering, track naming and coloring, MIDI and network configuration, among other things, and are typically defined prior to staging.

Although most parameters here can be stored as Setup presets saved in the project folder, there are some exceptions, indicated by the background color of the parameters:

  • stored in Setup presets, part of the project folder
  • saved locally,
    • either as part of the Max Preferences file, located in ~/Library/Application Support/Cycling '74/Max 9/Settings/maxpreferences.maxpref (Audio settings)
    • either as part of the Visual Stage settings in Telematic-Theater/data/local_setup.json (Spat and Panner IP addresses, Interface theme color)
  • stored in Scenic presets, part of the project folder (Noise, Text, Ext.Src video gains)
