Remote controls
The Visual Stage app can be driven remotely from external hardware or software, primarily through the Mixer (selecting tracks, moving faders, and tweaking macros) and the Presets grid scenes. Two protocols are available for this, and can be used together:
- MIDI control: map the faders, knobs and buttons of any MIDI controller to the Mixer’s tracks and macros, and to the Presets grid’s scene navigation.
- OSC (Open Sound Control): control the same Mixer elements over the network, plus recall Scenic, Performer and Blackbox presets (with interpolation time) and select scenes from the Presets grid. An Open Stage Control interface is available, provides a ready-to-go, bidirectional tablet interface for this, built on the OSC implementation that is also available to build your own custom controller software.
